Since 1931<\/h2>\n

\u00a0The History of Camiser\u00eda El Castillo dates back to 1931.
\nAlmost a century dedicated to the textile business in Madrid.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

The current owners of the store are the grandchildren of Isabel and Carlos, the niece of Inocencio Gonz\u00e1lez and the manager of the store. Years go by but it follows the same spirit of attention and care with which this store has served so many locals and city visitors throughout the 20th century.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n

1931<\/h2>\n

Inocencio Gonz\u00e1lez Blanco opens the store. Inocencio already had a business on Embajadores street in Madrid, where he sold stockings and all kinds of women's clothing. To go from one store to another, from Embajadores to Mayor street, it was almost entirely uphill. In his head there was the idea that it was like going up to a castle, hence the name \"El Castillo de las Medias\", the socks castle in Spanish.<\/p>\n

He immediately put his nieces Isabel and Sagrario Garc\u00eda Miranda to work. At that time the young Carlos de la Poza was in charge of the store, and it was there that the love affair and subsequent marriage between Isabel and Carlos arose. Over time, the couple entered the business together with Inocencio, which would begin a series of generations dedicated to the textile trade.<\/p>\n

Carlos studied Pattern Making and Sewing and he had very good clients that came from the State and City Council, both close to the shop.<\/p>\n

1939<\/h2>\n

Madrid is besieged by the Civil War, so they are forced to close the store until the war is over.<\/p>\n

1961<\/h2>\n

Inocencio Gonz\u00e1lez Blanco passes away and leaves the store as an inheritance to his niece Isabel Garc\u00eda Miranda.<\/p>\n

After a few decades dedicated exclusively to women's garments, they began to work with bespoke men's tailoring. It was Carlos himself who bought the fabrics, took the measurements and cut the patterns, later passing the work to the seamstresses and ironers.<\/p>\n

1968<\/h2>\n

A new store opens on 16, Arenal street, where they continued to sell both men's and women's clothing.<\/p>\n

Over time and with the different trends in the market, they were opting for male garments with mass production, a business that continues today, in the 49, Mayor street store.<\/p>\n

Isabel and Carlos were relieved by their children Carlos and Isabel and, currently, by their grandchildren Eduardo and Carlos as managers of the family business.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>

Almost a century<\/h2>\n

Our family business is almost a century old. But we can reassure that the enthusiasm and quality in client support remain intact as from day one. Some of today's clients are even relatives of former clients.
